Fill the board top to bottom. Start with Deadlines and ground rules - the event date, the printer's cutoff, and the book's specs - and settle on the one deadline you'll work to. Use The shape of the book to check your split between cover, main story, and extras, and Six stages to submission to mark where you are now. Weekly page targets runs three columns - rough draft, inking, and finishing - so set how many pages you're drawing this week there. If you fall behind, use Deciding what to cut to choose what to trim. The task board runs Backlog, This week, In progress, Checking, and Done, and only this week's cards get pulled forward.
