Remote Work Self-Management: Making Your Hours and Your Progress Visible
Remote Work Self-Management is a template for someone in their first job on remote or hybrid work who has to set their own hours and make daily progress visible to a manager who never sees them. The whiteboard carries a written agreement on start, sign-off and reachable hours, the shape of a day in five steps, a grid that splits office days from home days, a ten-minute Friday KPT retrospective (Keep, Problem, Try), and the rules for messaging and replying. The task board runs five columns - Not started, Focus today, In progress, Shared / waiting, Done - and arrives with five parent tasks and 13 subtasks covering your setup, your hours, your updates, asking for help, and the weekly review. Instead of worrying that nobody can see you working from home, you end up with a three-line update every morning and one honest KPT every Friday.
