Salon Assistant Training Curriculum for Beginners: Skill Check-off Board

This beginner template helps salon training leads and managers run a hair stylist assistant's training curriculum by skill and stage, with weekly pass checks. The four whiteboard pages set the training goal in a GROW interview, lay out the four skills' stages and pass criteria in a table, pick this week's practice and assign it Monday through Friday, and log results in a five-week record sheet, repeating weekly until every skill passes. The task board has three columns - practicing, awaiting check, and passed - with four parent tasks matching the four pages, each holding three subtasks. Start by filling in the skill-and-stage table and deciding who watches this week's practice, and the path to qualifying as a stylist becomes clear. Recreate the board from this template for each assistant and share it with training leads and managers using limited visibility. Follow your salon's training lead and the manufacturer's instructions for chemicals and treatment steps.
