Job Search Tracker: Applications and Company Comparison on One Board

If you are considering a move, open this template when you start gathering information and keep using it through the final offer decision. The whiteboard holds your non-negotiables, a map of what to say about yourself, a comparison grid covering pay, working style, growth, and culture, a matrix of interest against likelihood, and the rules for running the process. The task board runs from watchlist to closed, and starts with five parent tasks - defining what matters, building the shortlist, polishing the documents, getting interview ready, and deciding on the offer - each with its own subtasks.

It fits anyone searching for a job search tracker template or how to build a company comparison sheet. It is built for the moment your bookmarked listings pile up faster than you can compare them, when you lose track of how far along each company is, or when your interview answers start sounding rehearsed. It works whether you are searching while employed or job hunting for the first time.

Fill the board from the top. Put your non-negotiables into words in "1. What You're Looking For" before you apply, then widen your material in "2. Taking Stock of Yourself". Line up confirmed facts - not impressions - in "3. Company Comparison", and decide where this week's hours go in "4. Application Priority". Keep operations in "5. Rules for Applying", "6. Concerns to Raise", and "7. Write This Down After Every Interview", and move cards across Watchlist, Preparing, Applied, Interviewing, and Offer / Closed.

In week one, finish "Choose 3 must-haves" before you apply - it keeps comparisons and answers consistent later. In month one, hit "Collect 10 openings" first, then rank once the pool is big enough. After each interview, add to "Draft your answers" before details fade.
