Storyboard for Beginners: Lay Out a Service Experience in 6 Panels and Fix Where Mood Drops

A beginner storyboard template for design thinking, where a team shaping a new service lays out one person's experience in six panels and fixes the panel where their mood drops. Here a storyboard is not a film shot list but a few panels showing what a person goes through using a service, built from person icons, shapes, and sticky-note lines, so no drawing skill is needed. The whiteboard has four pages. Page 1 sets the purpose, hero, and scene and splits the story into six beats; page 2 fills a six-panel table and adds mood-face stamps; page 3 compares fixes for three low-mood panels and picks one; page 4 shows the fix to three people and sets the next fix date. The task board has five columns from To start to Done and four parent tasks with three subtasks each. Keep to one hero and one scene.
