Lean Coffee for Beginners: Post Topics, Dot-Vote the Order, Discuss What Matters Most in Time

Dev teams and study groups of 4 to 8 use this Lean Coffee template for beginners to pick topics with sticky notes and dot voting, then discuss the most important first. The board has 4 pages. On page 1 you check the flow and time limits and write down topics; on page 2 everyone votes with two round stamps and topics move through To discuss, Discussing, and Discussed in order of votes; on page 3 you place each conclusion on an importance by urgency matrix and pick what to act on now; on page 4 you sort steps into Now, Next, and Later and add an owner and deadline. The task board has 5 columns, from next-step candidates to done, with 4 parent tasks (one per page) of 3 subtasks each. Lean Coffee is a meeting style with no preset agenda, where people raise topics on the spot and vote to order them. Time-box each topic to 5 to 8 minutes with a phone or meeting-tool timer, and when it rings a thumbs vote decides whether to continue or move on. Team members can fill it in together.
