Made-to-Order Kanban for Beginners: Move Custom Orders to Shipping and Cut Late Deliveries
Owners of small handmade shops use this made-to-order kanban template for beginners to move each custom order from received to shipped and avoid late deliveries. The whiteboard has four pages. Page 1 sets the shipping promise, a six-step flow, and intake questions. Page 2 places orders in four columns with a due-date table. Page 3 sorts late orders and problems by likelihood and impact and drafts replies to common questions. Page 4 plans time-saving fixes, who does what and on which day, and a month-end review date. The task board has four columns - to do, in progress, waiting for the owner, and done - with 4 parent tasks and 3 subtasks each. Sticky notes carry only the order number and item name, so customer names, addresses, and phone numbers stay in the shop admin and off the board. Only custom orders go here; regular in-stock orders stay in the shop admin. Members of a limited-visibility team can write together.
