SWOT Analysis & Cross Strategy Template

Open this template with your business lead and the team at a quarterly strategy session or an offsite. The whiteboard runs top to bottom: a goal and ground-rules frame, the four SWOT quadrants, an SO/ST/WO/WT cross-strategy grid, a 90-minute agenda, and a closing frame with the definition of done. The task board mirrors that flow with four parent tasks, each holding three children: agree on scope, list SWOT items, build cross-strategy moves, and turn them into an execution plan.

Goal and ground rules for this session The four SWOT quadrants S Strengths (internal, helpful) W Weaknesses (internal, harmful) O Opportunities (external, helpful) T Threats (external, harmful) Cross strategy (combine the SWOT groups) The 90-minute agenda Definition of done and takeaways SWOT & Cross ... How to use: 1) Al... Goals & decis... Ground rules Risks & threats Insights What we decideIn 90 minutes, choose the three moves we fund next quarter. Filling the SWOT grid is not the goal. How we workKeep facts and opinions apart. Any claim without a number gets a source attached or is labelled a hypothesis. What we skipNo competitor bashing, no post-mortem on the past. We only discuss the next move; park anything unresolved. 縦軸: Internal / Ex... Assets you already hold. E.g. 92% retention, an in-house onboarding team. Prefer items you can quantify. Gaps you can fix yourselves. E.g. low brand awareness, no English UI. Nothing outside your control here. Tailwinds in the market. E.g. rising digital budgets at SMBs, remote work settling in, wider grant coverage. Headwinds. E.g. a large rival launching a cheap tier, free tools adding features, a key industry shrinking. O Opportunities T Threats S Strengths Attack (SO)Use a strength to take an opportunity. E.g. lead with the onboarding team and sell direct to SMBs with budget. Differentiate (ST)Use a strength to blunt a threat. E.g. skip the price war and pitch retention and hands-on support. W Weaknesses Improve (WO)Fix a weakness to reach an opportunity. E.g. ship the English UI and chase remote teams overseas. Defend or exit (WT)Where a weakness meets a threat. E.g. do not fight in the low tier while unknown, and spend no ads there. 0-10 min / AlignWrite the business line, period and decision maker in the goal frame and read them aloud. 10-35 min / Fill SWOTEveryone writes notes in silence and posts them into the four quadrants. 35-50 min / Fact checkMark every note without backing, then add a source or label it a hypothesis. 50-75 min / Cross movesFill the SO, ST, WO and WT cells. Each cell needs at least one concrete move. 75-90 min / Cut to threeChoose three moves, assign an owner and a first date, and create the cards on the spot. When we are doneEvery cross-strategy cell holds at least one move, and the chosen three have an owner and a date. Next reviewDuplicate this board once a quarter and update it. Leave the old notes in place and add new ones beside them. If you get stuckCannot name opportunities or threats? Go read recent churn reasons and rival price changes first, then return.
