Internal Request Desk Kanban for Beginners: Track Admin and IT Requests from Received to Done

Admin and IT staff new to request tracking can use this beginner kanban template to show internal requests in four columns and cut the 'what happened to that?' questions. Four boards: board 1 sets the intake rules and a target time and owner for each request type; board 2 follows requests across the four columns and nudges stalled ones; board 3 uses an importance-by-urgency matrix to narrow the order of work; board 4 digs into the most common request with 5 Whys, then plans fixes such as guides and forms, plus an intake duty rota. The task board has four columns - Received, In progress, Awaiting check, Done - with 4 parent tasks matching the four boards and 3 subtasks each. Whoever receives a request writes the card; requesters do not write on the board. Never put passwords or personal data on a card, only the request number and key point. Members of a limited-access team can write together, so duty staff can share the rota.
