Drucker-Style Exercise for Beginners: Answer 4 Questions to Align Your Team's Expectations

This Drucker-style exercise board for beginners helps a team of four to seven people align expectations by answering four questions. The whiteboard has four pages. Page 1 sets the purpose, a one-hour plan, roles such as facilitator, and ground rules for answering. On page 2, each person answers the four questions (strengths, contribution, values, expected role) on a named sticky note, and teammates reply with what they actually expect. Page 3 sorts the gaps into keep as is, talk it through, or change the role, and sets the order to discuss them. Page 4 resets roles and first jobs and plans the days until the next review. The task board has five columns, from To do to Done, with four parent tasks that match the four pages and three subtasks each. Expectations touch on how people are seen, so use it in a limited-access team space where members can write together. You finish with every person's role, first job, and review date in one table.
