Daily Report Template for Beginners: Write Facts, Insights, Questions, Plans and Review a Week

New hires use this daily report template for beginners to write a 10-minute end-of-day report in four parts: facts, insights, questions and tomorrow's plan. Over four pages, you set the purpose and reader, read a good example of each part, and rewrite the bad ones in your own words. Then you write five days, Monday to Friday, while your manager replies with comments. Next you sort a week of notes into decide yourself, ask, and report now, sum the week up with YWT, and spot your writing habits with your manager. Last, you give each question an owner and a deadline and plan next week. The task board has four columns - before writing, writing, awaiting manager review, reply read - with 4 parent tasks and 12 subtasks. If you do not know what to put in a daily report, start by filling one line in each of the four frames in the last 10 minutes of the day. Your manager can comment the next morning in a limited-visibility team.
