Skill Map for Beginners: Team Skills Matrix Board to Rate 1-5 and Plan Who Teaches Whom

A beginner template for team leaders of 4 to 7 people building a first skill map: list the skills the work needs, rate each member 1 to 5, and decide who teaches whom. The whiteboard has 4 pages. Page 1 sets the purpose, the scale from 1 (knows of it) to 5 (can teach it), and the work list. Page 2 groups skills and fills a table of 5 skills by 7 members. Page 3 separates skills only one person has, nobody has, or everyone has, and picks the top 3 to grow. Page 4 sets teaching pairs, sessions, deadlines, and the next review. The task board has 5 columns from Preparing to Done, with 4 parent tasks and 3 subtasks each. A skill map is not for ranking people; use it to spot work that rests on one person or on nobody. Because it touches evaluation, keep it off public URLs and write it with members of a private team.
